My comic-projekt »At Mom’s« is one of 12 chosen projects by the Battle-Of-Print-Award Jury for the Battle-of-Print-Calender 2021. I am so to speak the month of November. Since this work is an atmospherical and melancholy silent novel I feel November is perfect. Many topics are still avoided by the public, such as depression, mental health, addiction disease and suicide. With this Project I have started to talk about my mothers suicide and its effects, as well as my own mental health states without using words. All of this is not dealt with without a badly needed pinch of houmor when necessary to deal with this difficult topic.
I am grateful that this project has been awarded a spot in the calendar early in its emergence, it gives me confidence to keep on working on this kind of important content.
